We worked hard and fast on our repertoire this week. I will try to focus on three songs a week from this point forwards so rehearsals are more useful and less overwhelming.
Please continue to work on your pin skills. You should have three things to test or work on at the start of each lesson so you can get through your silver pins before the end of February.
Songs to practice:
- popcorn - have the first two lines so you can play them with ease (should take a few minutes of practice)
- Ain't No Mountain - practice the intro picking and the words. If you were away the intro picking goes like this(ish): A(on the F#), E, A, G#, E,G#, G, F#, E, E, B, E....repeat. You will be able to see it on the second or third line of music.
- Mockingbird - The chorus - starts at the end of line one and goes to the repeat sign
- Irish Washerwoman - The first section should be easy to play and starting to build speed
It's a lot of work, if you are feeling overwhelmed please talk to me and I can help you break it into more manageable chunks. See you all on Monday
