Recap of what we did:
Ear training - we did happy birthday in the key of D. Please come to next rehearsal having tried to figure out the chords for the whole song.
Little saint nick - we learnt the strumming so all gold student's should be strumming from here on out. Please also memorize the words.
Kolomeyka - should be comfortable with the rhythms and notes of sections 1 & 2 with music. You should work on section 3 with one note to practice the rhythms.
Proud Mary - please look at the words and the bar of picking we did together.
Comedians Gallop - you have now heard the whole played through. Please take a look at your parts, you will notice that some sections repeat.
I know it is still early but I have only had a couple people test a skill with me. Please try to come each week with at least one skill to test.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for another great rehearsal. You all worked really hard on our gold piece.

Welcome Back Golds!
I hope you have all had a great summer and are excited to get back to ukulele.
As most of you know, my name is Sylvie and I will be leading the B Golds again this year. If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to email me at email@example.com.
Rehearsals start at 6:30pm sharp so please come a few minutes earlier to tune and get ready. If you have anything you would like to test I am usually at Oak Bay around 6pm so feel free to come early. Golds are also expected to stay until 8:15pm as we join the A group for the last part of our rehearsal.
Please check here each week as I will post a message explaining what we did at rehearsal and what my expectations are for the next rehearsal.
I look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
Congratulations on the concert this weekend. You all did a fabulous job and many parents said they were very moved by the performance.
This Monday we will have a couple new faces joining Gold so please make them feel welcome. Gold and New As will be together most Monday nights so we can go through the gold pin skills with everyone. Other times we may split apart so different groups can focus on different skills. We will continue to go in with A group for the second half of the rehearsal. Golds will stay until 8:15pm while new As are expected to stay until 9:00pm.
As always, if you have any questions or have anything to test, please come to rehearsal a little early as during class time it sometimes gets busy. I am at Oak Bay by 6pm most Mondays so there is lots of time for questions or testing.

Well done last night. I know there was a lot of moving around and we didn't get a chance to work on Gold stuff for too long but you all did great and thank you very much for being flexible.
If you haven't memorized words for our mass B songs: Opihi Man, Nova Scotia Song and My Paddle/Land of the Silver Birch, please have them memorized for next week as that is the last rehearsal before the concert.
Also, don't forget your A group songs:
Turkey in the Straw
Here Comes the Sun
For those of you with Silver pin skills to complete, please keep working on them. Everyone should be coming to rehearsal with at least 1 skill to test each week.
I am at rehearsal around 6pm each Monday so if you have any skills that you would like to test or questions you'd like to ask, please come a little early as rehearsal are generally very busy.
Have a great week,
