This week I handed out my handwritten arrangement of the Lion Sleeps Tonight to the Bronze group. Please keep it safe in your binders and remember which part was assigned to you! This term I'm hoping we can get more testing done each week so be prepared to test or work on a specific skill each week! In addition, we will be doing a speed test every week so it is consistent. I will try to find a good resource to help those new with note-reading and hand them out next practice.
Things to work on this week:
- At least one skill ready for testing!
- The lion sleeps tonight -pic the first line even if you are not part I.
- E Huli words
Next week I am hoping to work with new students on old repertoire so that we will be ready for future performances. If you do not have a copy of Five Foot Two or Little Brown Jug, please come see me at the beginning of practice!
I would like to try to set a consistent routine with regards to tuning and donut sheets starting next week. When you arrive, please sign in and then ask a teacher to tune your uke. You can see Carmen to confirm that you have brought your instrument, binder, and a pencil to get a sticker on your donut sheet.
That's all for now folks! Have a great week!
