Between now and the trip we are focusing on the pin skills so that each of you can pass a number of skills and possibly even a whole pin. Keep practicing over the break and be ready to test at least 3 things when you come back. YOU CAN DO IT!
You all did a great job at the ukes unlimited concert and performed very well. I would also like to applaud your audience behaviour. The whole group of teachers and I were impressed with your listening skills and we didn't have to talk to you about being respectful. It was fantastic.

Great work so far this term everyone! Please continue to practice over the holiday. We will see you in two weeks. Please have at least two things ready to pass for your pin skills.
Please make sure you practice your songs for the concert on Saturday. It will be a fun concert. Dress warmly and for the weather. It may rain so please bring an umbrella and rain gear. See you soon.
Hello everyone! Just a reminder that there is no ukulele this week because of the Remembrance day Stat. Please work on those pin skills and your repertoire pieces. See you on the 20th.
Hello everyone! We had another successful rehearsal on Monday and our songs are really coming along. All of you should have the first three lines of Purcelli's Canon memorized for next week (those that were in Matthew's group for the first few weeks please do your best to be able to play the third line).
The words for both mass numbers (Do-Re-Mi and Little Saint Nick) should be memorized so we can start to clean up our arrangements and start polishing our sound. You can do it! Have a great week everyone and we will see you on Monday! October is almost over! You are making such great progress! Please have the first three lines clean and ready to memorize. Our goal is to be able to play all 5 lines by the concert. Please also have the words to little Saint Nick ready to go so that we can work on making it sound musical and beautiful together.
Pin Skills! I have had two people finish their bronze pin so far this term and I know there are at least 5 of you that could finish by the Christmas concert if you test two things a week for the rest of the term. YOU CAN DO IT! See you Monday! Hello Everyone!
We are really making progress with our skills and repertoire. This week we worked on the first 3 lines of Purcelli's Canon and Blue Book section 5. Please practice your words for Little Saint Nick and Do-Re-Mi. The next time we will see each other is Team building day on the 14th. WE will be able to work on a lot of our skills and repertoire. Please be prepared to test at least 3 things on the 14th. Even if you don't feel ready to pass those skills yet it will give us the ability to give you some feedback to help you practice. See you all on the 14th! We have had two successful weeks at ukulele! I am excited for the rest of our term together. Please continue to work on pin skills and the first two lines of Purcelli's Canon and I will see you on Monday!
It was so great to see you all again and to meet some new students. On Monday we handed out two of our pieces for this term. Purcelli's canon is a beautiful song that we are going to play as the Bronze group and Little Saint Nick will be played as mass number with the rest of the groups. For practice time this week I would recommend you to brush up on some of your bronze pin skills and work on any of the ones we reviewed on Monday(D scale, Chords: D, G, A, A7).
See you all again Monday! Thank you for another great term of ukulele. You did a great job at the graduation concert on Monday night. I know it is a long night but I hope you were able to find some inspiration for your musical future. If you have any questions over the summer please email me and I will do my best to get back to you promptly.
I look forward to seeing all of you in September for another great year. - Melanie |
